Distributed traveling wave ranging (fault location) device is applicable to the monitoring of AC and DC overhead transmission lines with voltage levels of 35kV and above, realizing fault on-line section location and fault ranging. The system adopts distributed monitoring technology, through the distribution of fault monitoring terminals installed on the overhead transmission line, to realize the high frequency sampling and recording of fault traveling wave, refracted traveling wave, and other transmission line faults before, during and after the frequency and transient signals. The main station utilizes the strategy of combining zone positioning and traveling wave ranging to quickly and accurately analyze the type of fault (lightning strike/non-lightning strike, bypassing strike/counterstrike) and to realize fault point location with an accuracy of 100 meters.
